I've never ridden a horse. Is it safe for beginners?

Yes. Our Mangalarga Marchador horses have a smooth gait — you don't feel the bumpy trot, which makes a huge difference for first-time riders. Ronaldo gives you instructions before departure and matches the right horse to each rider. Most of our guests had never ridden before, and many leave wanting more.

Can I bring my child?

Yes! We welcome families all the time and host all ages. Our horses are trained for it and the team adapts the ride to each child, with extra attention. Kids do great here.

What if it rains on the day of my tour?

In case of heavy rain, we refund 100% of your booking. Light rain or drizzle typically passes quickly in Mauá, and our team makes the call on the day. You book with no financial risk.

How early should I arrive?

20 minutes ahead. Time to sign the liability release, complete payment, meet your horse and get the basic safety briefing. The ride departs at the scheduled time — late arrivals lose the deposit (we hold the slot exclusively for you).

What's the maximum weight per horse?

Max weight: 100kg (220lbs) per person. This is a firm rule — for the wellbeing of our horses and your safety on the mountain terrain. If you're close to the limit, just message us on WhatsApp and we'll figure it out together.

Do you accept credit cards or installments?

We accept PIX (Brazil's instant payment) or cash in Brazilian Reais (BRL). We don't have a credit card terminal. The deposit is 50% via PIX, and the remaining 50% on arrival. For groups or packages, just talk to us — we can work things out.

What's the best time of year for the tour?

We're open every day, year-round. Each season has its charm: winter (Jun—Aug) has the clearest skies and best visibility of Pedra Selada; spring-summer (Oct—Mar) is greenest with the valleys in bloom; fall (Apr—Jun) has the golden Araucaria trees. Best times for photos: 10am or 4:30pm.

How do I get there? Is there parking?

We're in Campo Alegre, Resende — RJ, accessed via the town center of Visconde de Mauá. Always use Google Maps (Waze doesn't work well in our area). We have free on-site parking. We don't offer transfer; if needed, we recommend a local Uber driver.

Not on the ride itself — for the wellbeing of the horses and your dog. But our Casa and Chalé do Córrego accommodations are pet-friendly, with some house rules. Details via WhatsApp.

Long pants (jeans are perfect) — important for comfort in the saddle. Closed-toe shoes or boots (no flip-flops or sandals). Bring a jacket for the late-afternoon ride or in winter. Sunscreen and a hat. For waterfall tours, bring a towel.
